Terms of Service

Last updated: August 10, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Baking Maths at baking-maths.com and related calculators, recipe tools, journals, and community features (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Baking Maths provides baking calculators, recipe management, cook mode, bake logging, import tools, and related features. Some features are available with a free account; usage limits may apply. Paid plans may be offered later.

Interactive use of calculators and most app features requires a signed-in account. Marketing and informational pages (including calculator about pages) may remain viewable without an account.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping login credentials secure. Notify us promptly at support@baking-maths.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or present security, legal, or abuse risk.

3. Plans, Limits & Payments

Free accounts include core features subject to stated limits (for example recipe capacity and daily Beta AI imports). Feature availability and limits may change.

When paid subscriptions are offered and you purchase one, you authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge the listed fees on the billing cycle you select until you cancel. Taxes may apply. Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we expressly offer a refund. Cancel through the billing portal or by contacting us before the next renewal to avoid future charges; access typically continues through the end of the paid period.

If checkout is not yet available in your region or for your account, any future paid pricing is informational. We will not charge you without a completed purchase flow.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of recipes, notes, images, bake logs, and other content you create or upload ("Your Content"). You represent that you have the rights needed to submit Your Content and that it does not infringe others' rights or violate law.

You grant Baking Maths a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt (for formatting/display), and display Your Content as needed to operate and improve the Service. If you make content public or share it via a link, you also grant us the right to make that content available to other users and visitors, and you grant other users a license to view, save, copy, and use that public or shared content within the product as the features allow (for example saving a public recipe to their library).

You can delete or unpublish content in the product where those controls exist. Request account deletion by emailing support@baking-maths.com. Public copies saved by others may remain in their accounts after you unpublish.

5. Imports & AI Features

Import tools may fetch or parse content from URLs, pasted text, images, or other sources you provide. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import that content. Do not use imports to misappropriate others' copyrighted recipes or proprietary materials.

AI-assisted features send submitted content to third-party AI providers for processing. Outputs may be wrong, incomplete, or unsafe if followed blindly. Always verify ingredients, amounts, temperatures, and times before baking. See our Privacy Policy for how import and AI data are handled.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service unlawfully or for fraudulent purposes
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access, probe, or disrupt the Service
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-export data except through features we provide
  • Reverse engineer or circumvent plan limits, soft-locks, or security controls
  • Upload malware, spam, or content that is illegal, harassing, or infringing
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Resell or provide the Service as a competing product without our written permission

7. Our Intellectual Property

The Service—including software, calculators, presets, formulas as implemented in the product, design, branding, and documentation—is owned by Baking Maths and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our IP except as allowed by the Service or with written permission. Feedback you send may be used by us without obligation to you.

8. Copyright Complaints

We respect intellectual property rights and expect users to do the same. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@baking-maths.com with: (a) identification of the copyrighted work, (b) the URL or location of the allegedly infringing material, (c) your contact information, (d) a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law, and (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We will review and remove or disable access to infringing material where appropriate, may forward your notice to the affected user, and may terminate repeat infringers' accounts. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice with equivalent detail to the same address.

9. Baking Results Disclaimer

Calculators, estimates, imports, and recommendations are tools for informed bakers—not professional culinary, nutritional, food-safety, or medical advice. Fermentation, temperatures, and ingredients vary. You are solely responsible for food safety and for verifying results before cooking or serving. Baking Maths is provided for personal and professional baking workflows at your own risk.

10. Availability & Changes

We aim for reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free Service. Features, limits, and pricing may change as the product evolves. We may discontinue features with reasonable notice when practical.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT CALCULATIONS, IMPORTS, OR AI OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BAKING MATHS AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THOSE CASES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

13. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Baking Maths and its operators against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by nature should survive (including ownership, licenses already granted for public copies, disclaimers, limitations, and indemnity) will survive termination.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may also provide notice by email or in-product message. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and request account closure.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Washington, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in the State of Washington will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction that prohibits this choice of law or venue, mandatory local consumer protections still apply.

17. Miscellaneous

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Baking Maths regarding the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
